The Fort Snelling site, located at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers, holds overlapping histories of Native Americans, explorers and the military. While taking advantage of the light rail stop located on the northwest side of the site, I am proposing transit-orientated, mixed-income and affordable housing. 

the plan.

The master plan creates legibility and cohesion within the site. A vibrant, commercial plaza adjacent to the LRT station allows people to enjoy lunch, hop onto the train or just relax. Adjacent to the plaza, residential community spaces allow people to congregate, children to have a safe place to play and residents to grow their own veggies. With the need of affordable housing in the metro area, the village of Fort Snelling will be a safe, sustainable and lively place to be.
